Hardin County has more post-secondary institutions per capita than any other county in the Commonwealth.

Recent growth in the area has created increased demand for higher education offerings and a number of institutions have stepped up to deliver. One example is the Regional Education Center in Radcliff. For the state of Kentucky, it is a first of its kind, partnership of educational institutions who are working together through a shared education facility to provide higher educational opportunities to companies and citizens of the Central Kentucky region including Fort Knox, Bardstown, Brandenburg, Radcliff, and Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
