Hardin County increased non-farm employment by the 5th highest percentage in the nation (from October 2009 – October 2010).

Reflecting growth at Fort Knox, the number of federal jobs in Hardin County increased from 4,775 in 2007 to 6,069 in the second quarter of 2010, according to the state Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
